The Tigers Challenge will have over 200 mini and youth rugby teams from all over the UK competing in a professionally organised rugby tournament in April for U7-U14 boys’ teams and U13-U15 girls’ teams, with a celebrity presentation ceremony to close a weekend of fun. It is staged at Minehead Barbarians RFC, Minehead Middle School and Butlins Sports Field, which are all within 1 mile of Butlins award winning resort.
After an exciting day of action at the pitches with two teams in the under 11 competition the onsite facilities at Butlins will not know what has hit it! The playing squad of 26 will unwind in the Splash Waterworld with flumes, slides and wave machines, enjoy the stomach churning ‘leap of faith’, the climbing wall, the free rides at the Fairground, the Go-Karts, the Adventure Golf or the Ten Pin Bowling before enjoying the evening entertainment with great places to eat and drink before getting an early night to do it all again the next day! Who knows maybe, just maybe the 27 travelling parents will also be permitted to unwind in Splash Waterworld as well !
After tremendous support from all their sponsors...'the hard yards' to use a rugby phrase.... and the contributions at all their fundraising events the boys will be kitted out from head to toe and look the part as they represent Ballyclare, their sponsors and Northern Ireland. It has been a massive effort by everyone involved to make this happen so its good luck to the 2 teams.... ‘The Cloughan Chasers’ and ‘Racing Club de Clare’!
